After Hurricane Andrew struck South Florida, John was hired by insurance companies to inspect damaged properties in the Miami and Homestead areas. He was assigned over 250 sites to evaluate, primarily large 10-foot satellite dish installations.

After visiting more than 100 homes, John contacted the insurance company with a sobering update:

“The satellite dishes are gone — but in many cases, the homes themselves are also severely damaged.

”That experience left a lasting impression and a deep respect for the destructive force of hurricanes.
